Craps

Craps
Casino game where you throw dice along the table.
Whether you're looking to bet big, bet small, or even not bet at all, playing craps online is an amazing way to have some fun and hopefully win a bit of money while you're at it.
In essence craps is a game where players either bet on a shooter making their "point", or not making their point.
You bet with the shooter when you bet on them making the point, and against the shooter when you bet on them not making the point.
The shooter throws two six sided dice from one end of the craps table to the other.
Most casinos require that they are thrown with enough force to bounce of the back wall.
This is done so that dice setters don't win an unfair advantage (the process of throwing a set of dice from a certain position at a certain velocity in hopes to hit a certain number more times than standard odds would suggest).

Keno

keno (13K)
A game of pure luck.
Keno is a very straightforward game and the fact that there aren't many rules to follow makes it even more so.
The game of keno uses 80 balls numbered 1 thru 80.
Every game, the house draws 20 balls at random and displays their numbers on screens (called keno boards) located throughout the casino.
The object of the game is for you the player to guess some of the numbers the house will draw.
You make your guesses by marking a keno ticket, a piece of paper with the numbers 1 thru 80 printed on it.
Keno tickets are located at tables throughout the casino but are most readily found in the casino's keno lounge: a room or area with chairs to sit and write.
Usually crayons are provided for marking the ticket.
Before you go marking a ticket you need to decide how much money you want to gamble on the ticket.
Near any stash of tickets you are likely to find several copies of the house's keno brochure, which tells you what the standard bets and payouts are this year.
At any point in time all casinos tend to have similar betting/payoff scales, but sometimes there are various "house specials" available.
For the sake of simplicity, let's assume for right now you avoid "specials".

Blackjack

blackjack
A card game in which the object is to accumulate cards with a higher count than that of the dealer but not exceeding 21.
Blackjack is amongst the most popular and well recognized of modern casino games. It is a game between the player and the dealer.
During a game of Blackjack cards are dealt from a deck of cards (called a shoe) that may contain anything from one standard 52-card deck to 6 such decks.
The player will be dealt two cards.
The Dealer will be dealt one card (in some casinos the Dealer is dealt two cards but only one is turned so that its value can be revealed, the card that remains face down is called the 'hole card.')
The object of Blackjack is to obtain a hand with the highest possible value without exceeding 21.
All face cards (Kings, Queens and Jacks) have a value of ten and the Aces can have a value of one (1) or eleven (11).
If the player's initial two cards do not exceed or total 21 then the player can requested another card (called a 'Hit'.)
If the player's hand does not go bust (exceeds 21) and still does not equal 21 the player may continue to request additional cards until he busts, reaches 21 or decides to 'stay'.
If the player is dealt a Blackjack (an ace and a card of value ten) then the dealer will automatically lose unless his single card is an ace or a ten.
If the player is dealt a Blackjack then he will not be allowed to draw further cards as he already has the best possible hand.
If the player goes bust the game is over and the dealer wins.
Should the player reach 21 or stay the Dealer will draw another card.
If the Dealer's hand is less then 17 in value the dealer must continue to draw cards until his hand's value exceeds 17 or goes bust.
In the event of the dealer not going bust the value of the dealer and the player's hands are then compared.
If the player's hand is stronger the Casino will pay the player twice the amount originally wagered.
If the player wins on a Blackjack the player will be paid out 2.5 times his original bet.

Video slots

slots
A new platform for the thriving virtual online casino phenomenon.
Virtual reality sensation with audio and image technology with the feel of a real live casino.
The 'one-armed bandit', what slot machines used to be called, has developed over the past century from being an amusement game for the wives and girlfriends of high rolling gamblers, to becoming the most popular game at the casinos today.
What has made the slot machine so popular over the years?
The success of slots is mainly due to their simplicity, as no skill is required to play them.
When a player inserts a coin into the slot machine and pulls the arm, they never know what is going to happen.
Will they win the jackpot by landing a lucky triple 7, or will they go home empty handed?

Roulette

Roulette
The American Roulette Wheel contains 38 numbers including 0, 00 and 1 to 36.
Having two zeros (0, 00) gives the house a 5.26% advantage.
In other words, for every $100 a gambler bets, the house will make $5.26 in profit.
Once the chips are placed on the table and the bets are made, the dealer spins the Roulette wheel while spinning the ball in the opposite direction inside the Roulette wheel.
Players are allowed to continue placng their bets during the spin until the dealer says "No more bets"
After purchasing the chips from the dealer, the player places them on the desired positions on the table in an attempt to predict where the ball will land after the wheel is spun and the ball comes to a stop.
Many myths and rumors surround the history of Roulette, giving a mystical air to the already intriguing game.
There are tales of Blaise Pascal, a famous 17th Century French mathematician, inventing Roulette and stories that the game was created in China and brought to Europe by Dominican monks who were trading with the Chinese.
The roulette wheel is a masterfully laid out, and most often, a beautifully engineered piece of equipment.
A perfect balance in design is needed so that the wheel does not have, or will not develop, any inconsistencies or biases.

Progressive Jackpot

progressive
Progressive slot jackpots often seem like manna from heaven, but they're really money from players' pockets.
Pretend you want to increase the jackpot by $0.05 for every dollar bet.
You do this by cutting the effective payback from $0.95 to $0.90 on the dollar, putting the nickel withheld from the also-rans into the purse paid at the finish line.
One way would be to trim the probability of winning $5 from 6 percent to 5 percent.
The corresponding contribution to the return would then be $5 x 0.05 = $0.25 rather than $5 x 0.06 = $0.30.
The overall hit rate would drop from 42.11 to 41.11 percent.
Assuming the probability of hitting the jackpot on this machine is kept at 0.01 percent -- one out of 10,000 -- the average number of tries between successes is 10,000.
So the average payout will be the $1,000 seed money plus $0.05 x 10,000 or $500, a total of $1,500.
The Progressive is a constantly accumulating prize, the value of which is displayed and regularly updated in the relevant casino game.
The Progressive is displayed as credits not as coins.
In other words, if the Progressive is 5,600 this refers to 5,600 CREDITS that could be won and not 5,600 coins.

Poker

Poker
Whether played as a casual recreation or as a cutthroat profession, poker endures as America's most popular card game.
Its been estimated that 70 million Americans are familiar with the standard rules of poker, marking it as quite the socially acceptable gambling activity.
The game is incredibly adaptable, and the growing popularity of online poker attests to that.
The game of Poker has evolved through the years, through many backroom games to the present day casinos around the world.
Its history is rich with famous places and characters.
For example, during the Wild West period of United States history, a saloon with a Poker table could be found in just about every town from coast to coast.

Today, Poker is carefully regulated by gambling laws, and saloons have given way to casinos and cardrooms, but Poker is played more than any other card game in the world.
It has grown into a sporting event, with competitions and tournaments all around the world.
Tournaments take place almost every week of the year somewhere in the world.
If you compare the prizes of major sporting events around the world, you will find that the monetary outcome of any given event in Poker would (pardon the pun) stack up.
Poker today is one of the fastest growing, but hardly recognized sporting events.
The pinnacle of the poker world, The World Series of Poker, attracts players from all over the world every year to compete for money and titles as the world's top Poker players.
Poker will always be around and will continue to grow and flourish like so many other past times.
There will always be a poker game to play, money to be won, and crowns to be worn.
